Putt, Putt, Pamper – The PGA National Resort & Spa; Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

November 29th, 2011 by Sheila

You don’t have to be an avid golfer to enjoy and appreciate the blissful beauty and sophisticated luxury of the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

This legendary property only requires a renewed sense of self and purpose. An attitude adjustment is in order – where mastering the art of relaxation often takes precedence over mastering the game of golf.

Located just a short 30 minute car ride to South Florida’s most magnificent beaches and 20 minutes to bustling Palm Beach, golf is just among the PGA National’s many perks.

Don’t get me wrong – the PGA National’s famed courses featuring 90 holes of championship golf are revered and considered by many to be hallowed ground. But from this Diva’s perspective, PGA should really stand for Professional Girls-Getaway Adventure

With a 40,000 square foot European Spa facility on-site…need I say more!

Sweet Self-Indulgence was never this easy and guilt-free!

Your loved one, the aspiring circuit pro, will be in heaven playing the manicured greens while you suffer (poor baby!) soaking in spa’s famous soothing mineral-rich pools – aptly named “Waters of the World”.

You enter the inner sanctum of the spa. Breathe…Inhale…Release. A healthier happier you awaits! The restorative experience begins with the Spa’s Peppermint Pick Me Up Facial that gently exfoliates and brightens the skin. Afterwards, you retreat to the spa lounge for 20 minutes of restful meditation followed by a light and healthy gourmet lunch poolside. The afternoon ends with a relaxing Lomi Lomi Massage – an ancient Hawaiian healing treatment - perfect relief for stress and a tired body.

You are rejuvenated and ready to for a unique 19th Hole cocktail- the PGA-tini- at the PGA National’s trendy iBar. The night continues with savory and sumptuous surprises at the Ironwood Steak & Seafood restaurant. A sophisticated setting, a fresh and  flavorful menu, and a wine cellar stocked with over 350 top-shelf wines will delight even the most discerning of palates.

The perfect day transforms into a starried night.

You gaze at the brilliant sky on iBar’s outdoor veranda with nightcap in hand and a smile on your face. You ponder the possibilities of your next golf escape. Yes, you definitely need to sharpen your skills. Ahh… a few more (spa) sessions will do the trick. And, thanks to PGA National Resort, you are well on your way to mastering the game - without ever picking up a club.

Brooklyn: The Makers Project

November 29th, 2011 by Katie Palmer

The Makers photo project by Jennifer Causey is a must-follow. Causey lives in Brooklyn, New York and attributes the neighborhood’s energy and creative spirit as inspiration for The Makers, which documents people who create artisan-produced products and embrace a more tactile way of living. “As the project evolves, so does the adventure and pleasure of documenting the people behind the products: to learn what inspires them, what keeps them going, and their thoughts on the city where they live and work,” says Causey. It’s a fascinating study of what makes Brooklyn such an inspiring place to call home.

City Guides by West Elm

November 28th, 2011 by Katie Palmer

As if the home decor and furniture store, West Elm wasn’t cool enough, I just discovered their online city guides. West Elm has been my go-to for home inspiration and it doesn’t break the bank. Their modern-classy-cool vibe always draws me in, and now they have city guides to match. They explore the coolest places to eat, stay, shop, and discover in Boston, Toronto, Austin, Brooklyn, Miami, Philadelphia, Portland, and Chicago. You’re in good hands with West Elm.

Winter Wonderland Perfection

November 25th, 2011 by Katie Palmer

As the snow starts coming down and the weather gets colder with each day, all I want to do is curl up under a blanket with a cup of coffee and a good book in a five star luxury cabin. Too much to ask for? At The Resort at Paws Up Resort, they would say not at all. Paws Up Resort features a “Montana Christmas Vacation” option that includes staying in a rustically-chic cabin, excursions including snowmobiling or skiing to meet up with your own personal Santa, a Christmas Eve party, sleigh rides through the forest, and ice skating.

This is just one of the options at Paws Up Resort. They also have one of my favorite accommodations sensations, glamping, as well as luxury estates and lodges. There are also girlfriend getaway packages including the “Cowgirl Up” package.

Saying Thanks

November 23rd, 2011 by Katie Palmer

So many carbs to come in the next few days! While we are all enjoying stuffing ourselves with stuffing (full approval of this!), it’s important to remember the roots of this wonderful holiday: giving thanks. Author Sarah McElwain and illustrator David Dean take a unique approach to being thankful. Their book, Saying Grace: Blessings for the Family Table, is a collection of mealtime blessings that span the globe and reach back hundreds of years. Cheers to universal and timeless thanks. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

A few other books that feature the art of saying thank you: 100 Graces: Mealtime Blessings and Graces: Prayers for Everyday Meals and Special Occasions

“City sidewalks, busy sidewalks. Dressed in holiday style.” Dublin for the Holiday’s

November 22nd, 2011 by Chelsea

It’s that time of year again–there’s a crispness in the air, a spring in your step, and a sparkle in your eyes. The buzz of the holidays is all around. It may sound cliché, but this time of the year really is my favorite. There is something about time spent with family and friends, crackling log fires, cups of hot cocoa, and the scents of cinnamon and nutmeg that warms you from the outside in.

For a holiday experience that truly captures the essence of the season, there are few places that can hold a candle to the traditional spirit of Ireland. From the twinkling lights and ornate decorations adorning the streets to the pantomimes and Christmas concerts that headline at theatres, Dublin is like something out of a storybook during the holidays.

The sense of merriment in the air during the holiday season in Ireland is infectious. They are a people lively and genial in nature and the energy and vibrancy of the holiday spirit is celebrated to its fullest.

Dublin plays host to a number of festivals during the holidays that evoke that magical feeling so special to this time of year. The Taste of Christmas festival held at the Convention Centre Dublin showcases the season’s finest food, drink, shopping, and music. What better way to get into the holiday spirit than by sampling signature dishes and warming libations as you check names off your Christmas list!

The Docklands Christmas Market is a truly unique event and one filled with Christmas spirit. This European-inspired market provides an experience of old-world charm in a quaint waterside village setting with market traders selling a range of Christmas gifts, seasonal food, and stocking fillers. Decadence abounds as a host tantalizing treats tempt your senses, from continental delights to traditional mince pies and mulled wine. Santa, carol singers, and fairground delights for the children make this festival one not to be missed.

In tune with the holiday spirit, The Merrion Dublin is offering a variety of holiday packages catered to welcoming travelers and providing them with the ultimate holiday experience. From a quick weekend escape for two to a winter getaway for the whole family, The Merrion has packages for everyone.

Fancy spending Christmas being pampered in an atmosphere of luxury and comfort? The beautifully restored Georgian townhouses that make up The Merrion provide an atmosphere rich in culture, history, and festive spirit. Not to mention the many activities, from heading out for a bustling day of shopping on Grafton Street, to spending a quiet afternoon sitting cozily next to a roaring log fire, to indulging in a luxurious spa treatment at The Merrion’s Tethra Spa, to taking part in the exciting tradition of the Leopardstown Christmas Race Festival–a holiday spent in Dublin will be one filled with memories.

So for a holiday walking in a winter wonderland pack your bags for Dublin!

Gifts for Home: Eclectic Inspiration for Our Homes

November 20th, 2011 by Katie Palmer

Our homes should be a reflection of who we are, what we love, and what inspires us. That said, what brings us all together here at Tango Diva is our love of rich travel experiences, so why shouldn’t our homes reflect that?

Australian author and interior designer Sibella Court is on our page as she travels the world in search of eclectic inspiration and documents her finds in Nomad: A Global Approach to Interior Style.

“She explores far-flung destinations and captures the essence of each in small details, exotic color palettes, exquisite textures, and traditional crafts.” She then shows readers how to incorporate their travel inspiration into their own interiors. Boring, blank walls, be gone!
