Felicia Kamriani shares her ZEN tips for travel!

“Although I’ve traveled to more than twenty-five countries, I recently took my first cruise and found myself discombobulated in unfamiliar territory. As with any mode of travel, cruising comes with its own set of challenges and surprises. Being a jet setter by choice, I’ve endured most travel bumps including the memorable mid-route Los Angeles to Pakistan mishap when a distracted flight attendant accidentally spilled a tray of beef stroganoff down the front of my white shirt. From this unforeseen mess sprung a slew of handy travel tips themed, How to be Zen When Traveling. Thus, each subsequent trip offered new opportunities to amend, refine and develop new strategies. Navigating one’s way through a cruise can be easy(er) with a little preparation, a flexible disposition and some Zen-preservation tactics. Otherwise, one runs the risk of doing the worst imaginable thing anyone could ever possibly do on a vacation: complain.” How to be Zen When Traveling. I enjoyed your article but have some comments and suggestions to make travel anywhere stressless. These days everyone thinks just because it is easy to book online, their trip will be a breeze too. With professional guidance by a travel agent, you could have been well prepared for what you could expect and suggested a gentler approach to cruising by selecting a smaller ship for your 1st experience or the best location on the ship to avoid feeling queesy. As far as shore excursions, there are companies that cater to small groups or individuals. These guides are more cost effective. You also dont feel herded and gives you the privilege of visiting places you would not have found on your own. An example is visiting your guides brothers home, artist studio and being invited for a local snack cooked at home by a local where you can partake in the preparation . Or how about being driven by motorbike around a city by a local or a private boat? Since most experienced travel agents have either seen the ships or know someone who has been on the ship, they can give you the “inside tip” on where to get way from people or which spa treatment is best. They can also guide you to specific theme cruises to match your interest level. It doesnt cost anything more to have the assistance of an experienced travel agent to help make your travel better, plus most of the times they give you something special as a surprise. They can upgrade you, get you a lower price, give you shipboard credit and give you the special treatment you are deserving up. Just because you can, would you draw up legal documents, buy a car or house online or get a loan because it is easy? You all deserve the best, especially now. It doesnt hurt to consult a professionl travel agent .(Not one of those cheap booking sights advertised on tv or the radio or highway sign). Use these sites for ideas.A real professional travel agent whose goal is to make travel effortless, a positive life experience and give you service you deserve!
Someone who is there when you have a question or unforseen travel problem. If you pick the right travel agent the only Zen you need is to plan your next vacation!
